BABBLING BROOKE BLOG March 18, 2009

Sexy SCARS Readers:

Welcome back to my BABBLING BROOKE BLOG! As promised, you will get a little HORROR...a little HOLLYWOOD...a little HIGH DRAMA! :)

HORROR/HOLLYWOOD/HIGH DRAMA: Okay, this week I am combining all my categories into one "monster mash"!!! ;)
Are you experiencing a little PARANOIA this week??? If so, it is because you are feeling the energy of PARANOIA HORROR FILM FESTIVAL that took place on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA this past weekend! (Um...why do you think I am 3 days late with my blog??? I was recovering from the party!!! :)PARANOIA FEST was a scary success! Major props go out to the owners of the new horror festival Shane Russeck, James LaVitola and Matt Gavin. These boys should be very proud! The first festival is always the most challenging and these guys made it happen "famously" ;) They came up with a genius plan to hold the festival on the HAUNTED Queen Mary ship...yeah, HAUNTED...horror crazed fans wanting to spend the weekend on a HAUNTED ship...imagine that??? ;) Then, they incorporated a bit of HOLLYWOOD into the mix, which surely attracted the "fu-fu" of the horror folks (okay, I admit it! :). From RED CARPETS to SPOTLIGHTS to PAPARAZZI, Hollywood was on board! The boat was rockin' with the likes of:
SYBIL DANNING, KEN FOREE, TONY TODD, TIFFANY SHEPIS, RENA RIFFEL, SHANNON LARK, COURTNEY GAINS, DEEDEE BIGELOW and YOURS TRULY! :)
Gotta mention my 2 favorite films in the festival (Yeah, I'm biased...so what???):
iMURDERS & DARK REEL
iMURDERS: Robbie Bryan (Writer/Director) & Christie Botelho (Producer/Actress) went from land, air to sea to support their film and celebrate with some of the posse, including Tony Todd, Harry Manfredini & Miranda Kwok. We had an amazing turnout and a ton of support and a special thanks goes out to all!!!
DARK REEL: Josh Eisenstadt (Writer/Director) and Aaron Pope (Writer) packed the theatre Sunday night with their star-studded horror flick. Tiffany Shepis, Rena Riffel and Jeffrey Vincent Parise were there to represent!
And, the WINNERS are:
BEST FEATURE: THE BEACON
BEST SHORT: CRITICIZED
BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS: LUCIFER
BEST ACTOR: ARMAND ASSANTE
BEST ACTRESS: TERI POLO
BEST SCREENPLAY: DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND

SHANE, JIMMY and MATT ARE BADASS IN MY HORROR BOOK!!!
And, a special shout in my most hardcore BROOKLYN accent goes out to the LAVITOLA SISTERS...;)

Love & Horror,
XO Brooke Lewis
